Japanese acupuncture is a gentle style of acupuncture that often uses fine needles, light needling, palpation-led assessment, and treatment paced to the person's comfort and clinical presentation.

Acupuncture is a registered Chinese medicine profession in Australia and usually includes broader assessment. Dry needling is commonly used by musculoskeletal practitioners for local muscle or trigger point sensitivity. The right option depends on your history, symptoms, preferences, and practitioner assessment.

There are several styles of acupuncture. With gentle Japanese acupuncture, a slight prick may be felt when a needle is inserted, often followed by warmth, heaviness, a dull ache, or a numb tingle.

Suitability is assessed during consultation. As with all health care, individual responses vary and adverse reactions can occur. Please share your trimester, medical history, and advice from your treating practitioners so care can be adapted appropriately.

Some people choose acupuncture as adjunct care during IVF or fertility treatment. Suitability depends on your timing, medication, medical advice, and fertility plan. Keep your fertility specialist informed about any complementary care, herbs, or supplements.

Usually not. Wear loose, comfortable clothing where possible. If an area needs to be accessed for assessment or treatment, consent and draping are discussed first.

There is no fixed number that suits everyone. Frequency depends on your reason for booking, history, goals, response, and whether another referral pathway would be more helpful.

Arrive having eaten a light meal, avoid alcohol before your appointment, and wear comfortable clothing. Afterward, hydrate and follow any individual advice discussed during your consultation.
